Psych Out Awards 2007 Click here for photos from this year's event! The East Side Institute for Group and Short Term Psychotherapy held its sixth annual Psych Out Awards benefit at the elegant Tribeca Rooftop on Monday, February 12, 2007. The Institute established these awards five years ago to recognize colleagues throughout the US and internationally who are working to support people to learn, develop and create change in their lives and their communities. The Psych Out Awards event is also a benefit to support the Institute. As a privately funded non-profit, we rely on the contributions of our friends and supporters to enable us to design cutting edge development programs and to train professionals internationally. We are pleased to announce that Psych Out 2007 raised $140,000. 2007 Psych Out Award Recipients Stephen Appea, Ph.D. Principal, PS 327, Brooklyn, NY Elizabeth Creel, LCSW Senior Clinical Researcher and Counselor Columbia University/FDNY Family Assessment Program, New York, NY Ana Marjanovic-Shane, Ph.D. President and Program Director, ZMAJ, Philadelphia, PA Michelle McCleary Adult Education Teacher, New York, NY Rachelle Moore, LCSW Practice Manager, Atlanta Center for Social Therapy, Atlanta, GA Thanks to the financial support of our friends, old and new, we are now training the third cohort of our successful International Class and are selecting students for 2007-08; we will be hosting our bi-annual international gathering Performing the World 4 in October and we are continuing to develop our partnerships with colleagues in Argentina, Brazil, Nicaragua, Kenya, South Africa, Serbia and Bosnia. Funds raised will also be used to support the Developing Teacher’s Fellowship Program in New York City.
